Joomla - Sections, Categories, News and Blogs

If your website has many pages and a lot of content, the best way to organize all that information is to create Sections and Categories. For example, if your site displays information about the different products available in your stores, you could create three sections like wood, plastic and metal, and then you can further divide your products by creating categories like oak, maple and pine or thermoplastic, polystyrene and polyethylene or steal and aluminum.

Creating Sections

First you'll need to create sections, to do this, using the top menu go to Content - Section Manager.

Here you can see all of the current sections available on your website, click the 'New' Icon towards the top right to create a new section.

On the next screen you have to give your new section a name, you can also give the section an optional description at the bottom of the page if you'd like, then just hit save and your section has been created.
